JOB SUMMARY:

The Resident Medicaid Coordinator position is to evaluate and monitor the need for Medicaid benefits during admission and through a residents stay at the facility. They will communicate financial and benefit information to residents and/or family members, collect patient liabilities, copays, and other private pay charges upon admission and on an ongoing basis, monitor the application and approval status of all Medicaid Pending residents.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • For all residents who will convert to Medicaid during length of stay, determine whether or not the Medicaid application process has been initiated; Work with the resident and/or family to initiate the process if not yet begun.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required documentation related to Medicaid eligibility (PASARR, 3008, etc.).
  • Ensure that resident admission contracts are signed and appropriately filed.
  • Ensure appropriate supporting documents are scanned to the billing office representative.
  • Review mail for related documents and scan to corporate billing as required.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with the referral sources, home office, facility associates and, residents and families, to adequately plan for the residents' needs.
  • Will assist the Admission Director when needed with tasks.
  • Act as back up for the Admission Director when needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a minimum of two (1) year of business office, Medicaid Planning, admissions, or other related experience.
  • Must display professionalism both in appearance and attitude.
  • Must possess the ability to multitask.
  • Must be knowledgeable and able to show skills within a Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Outlook and similar software),ability to problem solve and learn new software and processes, including, but not limited to data entry, output, system applications, etc.
  • Must possess the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday. Scheduled work time is flexible.
